Come Christmas and New Year, and it is common to find celebrities visiting old age homes, hospitals and even military camps to spread festival cheer amongst their fans. Invariably, the attempts by female celebrities to indulge in some PR get maximum publicity.
Kim Kardashian did her bit to spread festival cheer this season by visiting hospital for young children. She was seen doling out toys and sweets to the kids and hospitals. This is a rather nice gesture considering the fact that kids often end up with very little fun in the strict and stuffy environment of hospitals. Further, the idea of making somebody as glamorous as Kim Kardashian in the hospital makes the entire exercise worthwhile.
Celebrities enjoy visiting hospitals and doing some charity work because it looks very good for their public relations. In a world where people often resort to the crudest methods and strategies to get publicity, making a few ill persons happy by visiting the hospital is certainly an acceptable form of public relations maintenance.

Of course, the presence of paparazzi may often lead to complications for the organization hosting the celebrity. Of course, the charitable organizations that are the recipient of such benevolence also enjoy their bit of fame when they are mentioned in media and are talked upon about by fans. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the presence of the celebrity leads to any long term benefits for the organizations. It also is unknown whether celebrities go beyond mere visits and provide some real benefit or assistance to needy organizations.
